Research Engineer Intern (R&D)
Integration into the research team at ESTP Paris in order to design and evaluate an intelligent energy management system (EMS) for a smart grid platform.
- Developed and evaluated an intelligent energy management system (EMS) for a grid-connected Smart Grid platform integrating photovoltaic generation, battery energy storage, EV charging, building demand, and grid interaction.
- Designed and implemented energy coordination and power management strategies using MATLAB/Simulink to optimize renewable energy utilization and battery operation.
- Developed state-of-charge (SOC) based battery management strategies with charge/discharge constraints, deadband, hysteresis, and ramp rate limiting to improve system stability and reduce unnecessary battery cycles.
- Validated EMS performance using real measurements from the Smart Grid test bench and analyzed energy flows, grid interaction, renewable integration, and system performance.
- Applied knowledge in control systems, modeling, simulation, and data analysis to support the development of efficient and scalable intelligent energy management solutions.
- Technical environment: MATLAB, Simulink, Python, Smart Grid, Storage Systems, Renewable Energies.
